High Needs Support

At Prospect Training Services, we are proud to offer dedicated support to our young people with High Needs (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)). We understand that every young person is unique, and some require additional care, guidance and encouragement to thrive. Our high needs support is designed to ensure that every individual feels valued, understood and empowered to reach their full potential. Through personalised learning plans, one-to-one support and a compassionate, patient approach, we create an environment where our young people can grow in confidence, build independence and achieve their ambitions.

We celebrate progress at every step and work closely with families, carers and professionals to provide the holistic support our young people deserve. Unlike traditional settings that may not always adapt to individual needs, our Illumin8 Programme is built around flexible, inclusive teaching strategies and smaller group sizes.

Programme at a Glance

Illumin8 is a personalised programme designed for learners with EHCP's to help them build confidence, develop essential skills and prepare for their next steps in education, training or employment. We recognise that everyone's journey is different, so Illumin8 is built around individual strengths, goals and aspirations. Our goal is to remove barriers and create an environment where learning can be nurtured, assessed and celebrated outside the restrictions of mainstream settings.

Learners follow tailored pathways that reflect their abilities and ambitions, supported by a fully staffed and supportive environment where consistent guidance is always available. The programme blends learning with real-world experience, ensuring learners gain the skills and confidence needed to succeed beyond the classroom.

Throughout the academic year, our Illumin8 programme is structured into three clear phases, where learners will get the opportunity to:

Build the Vision - Shape your path with purpose and learning (September - October)

This phase immerses learners in a series of exploratory experiences designed to help them reflect, set goals and make informed decisions about their learning journey. Learners will engage in a diverse range of activities, including work experience placements, interactions with employers, educational assessments and structured sessions with their dedicated mentor.

Learn with Intention - Gather, grow and gain knowledge (November - April)

This phase forms the foundation of their programme and focuses on building essential skills that unlock future opportunities. Learners will engage in Functional Skills Maths and English, Progression Sessions and Enrichment Sessions.

Step Forward - Turn progress into possibilities (May - July)

This phase is where young people begin to see the results of their hard work come to life. This is a pivotal point in the programme where progress is transformed into real-world possibilities. Learners will be registered for their Functional Skills examinations, ensuring they are fully prepared and confident to achieve success in these essential qualifications.

Illumin8 Values

At the heart of our work is a commitment to accessible education for all. We believe every learner should have the opportunity to thrive, and we actively remove barriers so individuals can reach their full potential.

We promote independence, resilience and a strong sense of belonging. Within a supportive and nurturing environment, learners are encouraged to embrace challenge, build confidence and take ownership of their learning while developing the skills and mindset needed for academic and personal success.

Inclusion underpins our approach. All learners - particularly those with SEND or additional needs - are recognised, valued and supported. By celebrating diversity and promoting respect, well-being and equality of opportunity, we foster a community where everyone can contribute and succeed.

We also champion individual strengths and achievements, recognising the unique talents each learner brings to our community.

Our curriculum prepares learners for success in education, work and life, guided by the 5 Cs:

Creativity

Critical Thinking

Communication

Collaboration

Collective Behaviours

Our curriculum prioritises relevance, progression and inclusion, ensuring learners achieve well and contribute meaningfully to their communities.
